WELCOME
Welcome to the Wang research group in the Chemical Biology Laboratory of Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). We are interested in the frontiers at the interfaces of chemistry, biology and engineering and would like to work on the questions derived from the unmet medical needs (bedside to benchside). The ultimate goal of our research is to provide solutions to those challenges (benchside to bedside). Signaling pathways contributed to pathological disease conditions are dissected. Small molecule agents are discovered for interrogating protein-protein interactions, signal transductions and the behaviors of the model organisms, which will provide potential drugs for the treating of cancer, neuropathic pain, drug abuse and addiction, autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, inflammation and other pathological conditions. Meanwhile, biotechnology development will be performed for drug discovery and diseases detection and diagnosis.

Principal Investigator (Professor) Xiaohui Wang received his B.Eng. degree (Bioengineering) in 2004 from Beijing Technology and Business University. He got his PhD degree in Chemical Biology in 2010 from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) under the supervision of Prof. Xiaogang Qu. He was co-mentored by Associate Prof. Hang (Hubert) Yin (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the BioFrontiers Institute) and Distinguished Prof. Linda R. Watkins (Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and the Center for Neuroscience) at the University of Colorado at Boulder during his Post-Doc training. Currently we are recruiting lab technicians, exchange students, graduate students, post-docs, assistant investigators and associate investigators with knowledge in cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmacology, organic/medicinal chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, computational chemistry or animal/behavioral science/physiology. Oversea Ph.D student candidates from developing countries are eligible for the application of CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship for International PhD Students (~ US $ 1 200.00/ month). ACADEMIC NEWS
1. Prof. Hang Hubert Yin and Prof. Zheng Yin from Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University visited Chemical Biology Laboratory on June 26 2015 at the invitation of Dr. Xiaohui Wang.
2.Dr. Xiaohui Wang was invited to give a 30-min presentation at the 2015 Annual Meeting of Pharmacology Committee of Jilin Province Pharmaceutical Association on July 25 2015 in Yanji, Jilin. Dr. Wang was selected as the member of Pharmacology Committee of Jilin Province Pharmaceutical Association.
3. Dr. Xiaohui Wang was selected as the Committee Member of Jilin Society for Immunology on August 21 2015.
4. Dr. Xiaohui Wang was invited to give a 20-min presentation on the 14th Annual National Meeting of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia on August 23, 2015.
5. Dr. Xiaohui Wang was invited to attend the Forum of Young Scholars in 2015 Chinese Medicinal Chemistry Symposium (CMCS 2105) & 5th CPA-RSC Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry and give a 15-min presentation in Lanzhou, Gansu on August 24-25. Dr. Xiaohui Wang won the "Outstanding Presentation of Young Scholars" award and RMB 2 000.00.
6. Dr. Xiaohui Wang was invited to give an 15-min oral presentation at the 9th National Conference on Chemical Biology on August 29-30, 2015 in Tianjin.
